Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and RedTexta (“we”, “us”). By using RedTexta you agree to them. If you’re under 18, please read these with a parent or carer.

What RedTexta does

RedTexta generates practice papers for you and gives AI-assisted marking and feedback on those papers — completed online or on a printed copy you photograph back in. We do not mark school assessments, past HSC papers, or other third-party material. It’s a study tool to help you improve your own work — it is not a marking authority, and it does not write your work for you. RedTexta is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to NESA or any school or examination authority. References to syllabuses or band descriptors are for educational alignment only.

Feedback is guidance, not a guarantee

• Feedback is generated by AI and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. It is general educational guidance — not professional advice, and not a prediction or guarantee of any mark, grade, or exam result.
• Always check feedback against your syllabus, your teacher’s guidance, and your own judgement. Your actual marks are determined by your school and the relevant authority, not by RedTexta.

Academic integrity

• You must only submit your own work, and you confirm this each time you submit.
• Use RedTexta consistently with your school’s and NESA’s rules on academic honesty and the use of AI. You’re responsible for how you use the feedback.
• Don’t submit other people’s work without their permission, and don’t use RedTexta to cheat.

Your account

• Your email address is your account — there’s no password. Keep access to your email secure; anyone with access to your inbox (and a current link) could view your feedback.
• You’re responsible for activity under your account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• submit unlawful, harmful, abusive, or infringing content;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service;
• use the service to harm others or breach any law or school policy;
• resell or commercially exploit the service without our permission.

We may suspend or end access that breaches these terms.

Free trial and subscriptions

• Your first piece is free. After that, continued use requires a subscription (currently about $25/month, or about $69/term).
• Subscriptions are billed through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled.
• You can cancel anytime; you’ll keep access until the end of your current paid period. We don’t provide pro-rata refunds for partial periods, except where required by law.
• We may change prices or plans with reasonable notice; changes won’t affect a period you’ve already paid for.
• A parent or carer may pay for and be linked to a student’s account.

Your content and our service

• You keep ownership of the work you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process, store, and display it for the purpose of giving you feedback (including sending it to our AI processors as described in our Privacy Policy).
• We own RedTexta itself — our software, content, and brand. You may not copy or reuse it except as allowed by law.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

To the extent permitted by law, and apart from those non-excludable guarantees:

• RedTexta is provided “as is”, and we don’t warrant that feedback will be accurate, complete, or error-free, or that the service will be uninterrupted; and
• our liability to you is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.

Privacy

Your use is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using RedTexta at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or to protect the service or other users.

Changes

We may update these terms. We’ll post the updated version here and change the “last updated” date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and we submit to the courts of that state.
